At first, all our Nyala were roaming freely on the 11 000ha. In order to manage the animals productively, we fenced off certain sections with more shelter, protecting the animals through the cold winter nights that are so common for the Karoo.
In these sheltered areas, our Nyala receive a high energy supplement and have adapted to entering these areas when it is severely cold, or when they give birth. Hence the dramatic rise in numbers of our cold adapted Nyala.
