Certainly our flagship specie on Quaggasfontein is the Buffalo. Our herd roams on 5000ha and receives a high protein and balanced ration every evening. Quality is the emphasis in our management of the Buffalo herd. Our breeding bulls in the past were the 44” Taurus, Rubin the 45” Thaba Tholo bull, and our recent and most impressive Morena, that measures 50.25” and was purchased from Ferroland in Limpopo.
Our breeding cows all measure over 30” and various “Tyson” progeny are to be found within the herd. These extremely high quality females, with the aristocratic bloodlines are now calving from Morena, elevating our Buffalo profile into orbit. Exciting times lie ahead as we look forward to the culmination of our efforts and viable genetics.
